Review of Monique Rockliffe's Short Story "The Door"

Desperate to find a solution, a Boy and a Girl and a group called The Scientists battle everyday to find a way to reverse the damage done by The Deceivers' arrogance, and when their despair is at its worst a miracle presents itself.

The Door not only exposes the evil mankind is capable of but also the compassion, love, and determination to preserve all life and appreciate every moment of it. Life is short, and it's our responsibility to make sure we do as much as we can in the time we have to live it to the full - even if that means sacrificing everything to make sure others get a chance to continue on. History teaches us where we went wrong and where we succeeded. Isn’t it time we listened?

Review:
I recently read “The Door” by Monique Rockliffe and was once again astounded with her talent as a writer.  This is a short story, so instead of rehashing any part of it, I am going to just give you my impressions.  I have an interest in science-fiction, and this story, if you are like me in that regard, is right up your alley.  There are plenty of elements that will appease a die-hard sci-fi fan, but there is so much more.  I was left with questions at the end, not of the story itself, but more of a philosophical nature.  I wondered what I would think or do if I was to be confronted with the same info that is presented to the male character in the story.  I wish that I could give you even a slight hint of what takes place in this story but to do so would give it away.  I hope that you check this story out, as it is a fantastic read, and I think that many of you will enjoy it as much as I did.  Happy Reading everyone!




Monique was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she currently resides with her husband.
Always the avid reader, she spent every available moment since childhood reading, which fuelled her already boundless imagination. She loved watching as many fantasy and science fiction films as possible, establishing her love and passion for storytelling of the Otherworldly kind.
She became a dancer at age five which turned into a successful professional career, but she never lost her first passion. She began writing seriously in 2009 when her dancing career came to an end and her husband and greatest supporter urged her to finally make a start.
